In the summer of 2005, we moved from Copenhagen to Österlen, in Southern Sweden, to fulfil our dream of working with design and art.

For 20 years, we had worked in the IT-world for companies such as Microsoft, IBM, and SAS Institute. Simultaneously we were both actively involved in art clubs run by the companies that we worked for, helping to organise procurement of works of art and setting up internal exhibitions. Travelling extensively provided opportunities to gain knowledge of aspects of art and design in several countries.

During the spring of 2006, we bought the old school in Vranarp, about 10 kilometres west of Simrishamn. For about a year, we have been renovating the buildings, creating an up-to-date base for our business, whilst ensuring that the ambience from the past has been retained. Originally, the building held a multi-purpose classroom and a teacher’s apartment. These have been converted into our art gallery and design shop.

In Easter 2007, Dansk Svenska Kompaniet became a reality!
